Question ID: 703040
I have an IBM A30 Thinkpad laptop. The screen has constant vertical
lines as soon as the computer is turned on during the BIOS flash
screen(before the OS loads, but the error is very visible with the OS
running) Also, the characters are switched.(Ex. A is B, B is C, C is
D, etc...)
see photo: http://geir.eivind.mork.no/images/thinkpad.jpg

There are also no descriptive error codes.
The lines also are displayed on all monitors I hook into the video ports...
I have just replaced the LCD inverter board, which has not corrected the error.

What is the diagnosis?(What hardware is defective? or (HIGHLY
UNLIKELY) is it a BIOS error?) how do I correct this error?
thank you
