I would like to get a list of anyone who currently (or is likely to in the next 2 years) supply configurable wireless IP MPLS backhaul solutions, for mobile operators. Note this means IP wireless. A comparison between the actual or planned products in terms of strengths and weaknesses would be a bonus. Please note that this probably does not mean wireless for domestic or consumer use (wifi et al) but covers backhaul solutions to be used with WiMax and 3G networks. Please ask for clarification if there is any doubt that you have the relevant expertise to answer this question. |

Jack, I've been doing a little research on IP backhauls myself, lately. In fact, that's how I came across your question. This may not be comprehensive, but hopefully it'll be of some value to you. Riverstone Networks published a whitepaper on how their MPLS switches can be used for an IP backhaul, using a 1xEVDO architecture as an example. Here's a link: http://www.riverstonenetworks.com/pdf/wireless.pdf RAD Data Communications describes their Ethernet/IP/MPLS backhaul solution. Here's a link: http://www.rad.com/Article/0,6583,26950-cellular_solutions,00.html Ceragon Networks recently announced that they'd deployed an IP backhaul for an WiMax operator.
