I am looking for a free web resource that that tracks currencies relative to the US dollar for the purpose of determining where my US travel dollar will go the furthest. I am not seeking a chart of exchange rates but instead a free website devoted to showing comparative trends in currency values against the USD over time; for the purpose of identifying which countries, having seen dips in the value of their currency would be the best value for international travel from the United States. In the last year Europeans were flocking to United States because each Euro bought more USD then it ever had before. I want to know, in the form of a regularly updated free website, where American's should be flocking to, and which countries over the last months are trending toward a good deal for US travel dollar, and which are trending out of favor. - Thank You. |

Concerning the Europeans' flocking to the States, one has to recall that the Euro was previously very depressed in value before, down to +/- $0.90, and then increased strongly in value, $1.20. This is fairly unusual, and relates to two areas with a high traffic of tourists - discretionary spending. In other areas of the world, such swings in currency values are much less common. As someone commented on your previous posting of this question, the relative price of tourist activities in different countries is much more important, ie., the exchange rate is not significant. I doubt that there is a website that tracks this, much less makes predictions about trends. |
