As I got a haircut today I wondered how barbers are paid. I didn't think it would be appropriate to ask the barber cutting my hair or the owner of the barber shop in the next chair, so I'm asking here. I am especially interested in how barbers are paid in the New York City metropolitan area, most especially in Westchester County NY. Are they paid a straight salary, salary plus commission, commission only, or do they rent their chair from the owner of the barber shop and keep all they earn from haircutting less what they pay the shop's owner? How much do barbers earn? |

Maybe these sites answer your question: http://www.collegegrad.com/careers/servi14.shtml http://www3.ccps.virginia.edu/career_prospects/briefs/A-D/Barbers.shtml Scroll down to earnings. This is a different approach, but from Sulfolk Cy, NY: http://www.businessbroker.net/Business_For_Sale-ID-80537.aspx I hope this helps, Myoarin |
