For a 16 by 16 foot concrete slab, supported only by a welded
rectangular steel tubing frame around it's perimeter, what should the
thickness of the slab be and what dimensions should the tubing have?
There are no load bearing walls to support but the slab must conform
to strict residential building codes.
The frame will be supported at each corner. I'm thinking 4 by 6
rectangular tubing would look nice.

If you know that there are strict residential building codes, I would
have assumed that you have access to them. To get an answer here, we
must know which state, county, municipal codes apply. Where will this
be built?
