Is there a way to cleanly split a digital signal from a digital cable
box so that it services more than one TV?

Contact you satellite provider.  You may have to pay more, but at
least you won't be a crook.

Really, Horatio, you can expect any Cable or Satellite user to take
out separate subscriptions to support for every tv set in the house!
