Some podcast directories rank shows. I'd like to know how many
downloads a show ranked No. 1 on a major directory gets vs. the number
10, 20, 50 and 100 shows.

Also, I'd like to know what sort of rates podcasts sell advertising
for. Or, where they have sponsors rather than advertisers, what it
costs to sponsor them.

I should add that I've already read the answers to all the questions
found by putting "podcast" in the search box of Google Answers, so I
already have the data quoted there.
