Question ID: 703820
I have a sony vailo s3hp laptop and I need to know if it's capable
(probably via driver download) of outputing a resolution of 1280 x
1024 on an external monitor. I've looked through the settings on the
laptop and it doesn't seem to be capable of more than 1280 x 800 (its
optimum res). I want it to output at 1280x1024 so that it will fit the
optimum res of my external monitor and give me a clear picture. At the
moment because this is not possible I get a slightly blurred picture
on the external display (text isn't very sharp etc). It would be great
if you could let me know where I can get a driver to enable the laptop
to do it (or any other way of doing it). Otherwise if you could say
definitively that it is impossible, that would also save me some time.
Please email the answer to john@claritycomms.com.

Thanks!

If your using the drivers from the Sony site, try downloading them
from http://www.nvidia.com/content/drivers/drivers.asp instead.

The laptop probably has a geforce 6200 go which according to nvidia is
capable of 2048x1536.

I have found a driver on some strange site that enables 1280 x 1024
output(3dguru.com or something). I now need to get 1366 x 768 output
for my 42" lcd TV (at work). Any help with this would be much
appreciated. I looked at the nvidia link you mentioned, but could not
find any drivers at all for the 6200 - please point it out if it is
there somewhere. I can't find any drivers on sonys site either - it
seems impossible to navigate.

thanks
