When I am online downloading something or other or connected to a
service my computer locks up and I get the message: Internet Explorer
Script Error   An error has occurred in the script on this page line
xxxx Char x Error  'bla bla bla bla'  Do you want to continue running
scripts on this page  Yes or No ?   How do I prevent this from
occuring?

Go to Tools > Internet Options > Advanced Tab. Put a check in the
checkbox "Disable Script Debugging" and UNcheck the checkbox "Display
a notification about every script error". You may need to restart your
browser.
