Hi, Are there any scientific studies or empirical evidence on the validity of McGregor's Theory Y of Management? I'm already familiar with the basic tenets of his philosophy and have found only vague commentary on 'problems with the theory', but nothing with any concrete mathematical or statistical references backing or refuting it. His theory is also slightly dated, so I would appreciate modern interpretations as applied to skilled workforces vs unskilled (specifically in technology). Thanks in advance! |
