I am interested in the types of rubber used in both the sole and strap of 'flip flops/thongs/rubbersandals etc' Inparticular the brand 'Havaianas' this will be the first of a series of questions I plan to ask as I am entertaining the idea and viability of producing a limited run locally (Australia) for myself and some local surfers. Thank you |

"Alpargatas is as secretive as Coca-Cola about the formula that makes Havaianas addictive. The combination of natural and synthetic rubber that makes them bouncy, flexible and durable, has been the same for 40 years." http://www.havaianas.cz/inpress.phtml |

You need to use a specialist company like www.bayworth.com They have materials engineers with expertise in all areas of polymers. If they cant provide an off the shelf solution they can analyse your competitor product and deformulate the material. We have used them for similar jobs. |
