U.S.
Can someone tell me the prevalence (number of people currently
suffering from the condition)of carpal tunnel syndrome in the United
States? I have been able to find the incidence (number of new cases
per year), but need to know the number of Americans currently
suffering from the condition.

I prefer the most recent year possible, but need the prevalence for
any one year from 2000 or later. If that is not possible, please let
me know what year you are able to find.

?An estimated five million Americans suffer from carpal tunnel
syndrome a pinching of the nerve in the wrist that causes pain in the
hands. Now a new study shows surgery, although one of the most common
treatments, may not be the most effective for the condition.?
