Hello,
I have not children and own my owen home as well as some
investment stocks. My boyfriend has a child in Florida whom he does
not pay child support for but does provide her medical benefits. He
and his daughters Mother are on good terms however she has never
required him to pay child support. I live In Michigan and am concerned
that she may decide she wants child support at some point and if we
marry that my home and assets may be at risk. The child is 8 years old
and I have asked him to have a serious converstation with his daugters
Mother regarding current child support or back child support. Does she
want it or not? I would like them to draft something in writing and be
reviewed by an attorney to make sure that there will be no financial
risk for my assets. What would you suggest? Do I need to be concerned
about my financial assets should we marry? How do I prevent this from
happening? |
