At the very begining of "Snoopy's Christmas" Their is A German folk
song "O Tannenbaum" played. My question is this: What version is it,
meaning who is the artist that sang it? It is NOT "The Royal
Guardsmen" or "The Vince Guaraldi Trio"."The Royal Guardsmen" just
sampeled another song into the begining of their song. I've been told
this by a person from Germany that just can't remember the artist's
name. To hear the song go to this

When you listen, ignore the shooting sound effects.

Dear plains,

I am German, and although I hate to say it: I believe that the search
for the origin of the "O Tannenbaum" sample will be futile, alas.
There are literally thousands of recordings of this song. And the
sample used at the beginning of "Snoopy's Christmas" has unfortunately
nothing that would make it distinguishable - no characteristic voices,
no unusual arrangement. I'd say that only the sound engineer who chose
the recording back then for use with the Royal Guardsmen song could
answer this question.

I may be wrong, of course. It is not impossible that one of my
resourceful colleages here at Google Answers will solve the mystery.
But I think that the chance is rather small. I thought I should let
you know this in frank words, so you won't be too disappointed if you
don't get an answer.

Regards,
Scriptor

Just to agree with Scriptor, and also to explain that there was an
answer posted to your previous question, which was then removed. In
that answer, it was mentioned that the song was inserted. I (the
person in Germany) did not here the recording.

Why is it so important to find the exact recording if there are so
many - and so many unidentifiably similar?
