I'm looking for any public collections of consumer product data,
preferrably in an open data format like Product Data Markup Language
(PDML). A successful answer to this question would include a link or
contact information that could provide data (for example, a CD-ROM
from a gov't agency) at additional cost to me.

This database would cover at least 10,000 items, and include the
following categories -- bicycles, automotive, garden, and kitchen
goods, and include at least the product category ("bicycles"), a
subcategory ("pedals"), a manufacturer ("Shimano").

The database should be usable without any licensing fees.
