I've quit my job. I need inspiration. Are there any historical figures
who quit their jobs too and later became more successful than they
might have otherwise? I need a couple of good examples. Thanks.

Thomas Edison) to pursue his interests in cars.

In reality there are many examples of people whose decision to quit
their job opened the path to greater success. George Clooney took a
risk quitting ER only to move onto bigger success. Of course, it
doesn't always work out that way (just ask David Caruso). When one
door closes, another opens. Sometimes on the other side of that door
is Ocean's 11 and sometimes its Jade, but you'll never know if you
don't go through it.

I quit my job and the next week had a close family member need hospice
care, which I was available to provide. I didn't increase my bank
account, but I became rich in so many other ways. It was the most
frightening thing I've ever done in my life.

Don't be afraid to take a risk...it will probably be the most rewarding option.
