Dear robertemery2203,
Unfortunately, you are victim of a scam.
I have checked the alleged company address they provide on their
website: Calle Miguel Palacios No 45, Getafe 28905,Madrid. This
address is a very careless fake:
- There is no No. 45 in that rather short street. The highest house number is 17.
- The correct postal code of that stret is 28038.
A company that provides a fake address on their website is, of course,
fraudulent. But there is even more evidence.
I checked the ownership record of their current Web address,
www.cargo-eurolines.com, and I found out that the domain name
"cargo-eurolines.com" is reportedly owned by this individual:
Domain Name.......... cargo-eurolines.com
Organisation Name.... Sherry Parks
Organisation Address. P O Box 99800
Organisation Address. EmeryVille
Organisation Address. 94662
Organisation Address. CA
Organisation Address. US
You will notice that the alleged address of the domain owner does not
at all match the company's address. This is so because they used an
anoymizing service offered by Yahoo under the name "Yahoo! Private
Domain Registration". It is a fact that reputable companies have no
reason to conceal their identities and actual locations. Only the
owner's name remains unchanged, but nothing is easier than to register
a domain with a fake name. Only fraudsters have reason to hide behind
a such mask, because they don't want to be tracked by their victims.
So although the registration record does not reveal who the actual
owner of the domain is, it has some other interesting information:
Registration Date.... 2006-02-27
Expiry Date.......... 2007-02-27
This means that the domain has been registered only recently, and for
just one year. This is typical for fake online stores: The fraudsters
use "disposable" domains that are simply abandoned once they are not
of use any longer. A real company, let alone a "global player" as they
call themselves on their website, would not register their domain for
only one year, as only scammers do.
And, what is striking: The current domain, "cargo-eurolines.com", does
not match the company name which is spelled as "Cargo Euroline"
without a plural-s everywhere on their website. A real company surely
would use their correct name as their domain. As you noticed yourself,
they changed their domain. So I also checked their former domain,
"cargo-euroline.com". It is currently owned by the domain provider
Network Solutions, and its status is "Redemption Period". The domain
ownership record was updated on 28 February this year - one day after
Cargo Euroline registered their new domain with Yahoo. I'd say that
Network Solutions suspended the domain registration after it became
obvious that something was not right with that alleged company.
By the way: The "News" section on the front page of the website
consists of stolen texts. The article with the headline "Cargo
Euroline shows its expertise in the field of automotive logistics at
the 6th International Automobile Forum in Graz, Austria" was stolen
from the website of the German logistics provider Schenker, only the
company name was changed. As research revealed, numerous fake
logistics companies have stolen that particular text and use it on
their fraudulent websites. It seems that "Euro Cargoline" is only the
tip of the iceberg.
You have become the victim of criminals. I advise that you contact the
police as soon as possible.
Regards,
Scriptor
