I would like to know what the connection is between the Rule of 70 and
the use of Natural logs? What exactly is the Rule of 70? And how is it
used?

The Wikipedia link given by Canadian helper gives the whole answer. As
it shows, the connection between 70 and natural logs is as simple as
this:

The natural log of 2 is 0.693, or approximately 70 when expressed as a percentage.
