bashar007...

Well, first of all, your other question notes you have a BA in
Economics, and seem to be looking for work in a related area.

Thes are the types of jobs they help you to find:
http://www.jobs-canada.ca/descriptjob.html

This site focuses entirely on oilfield jobs, as noted by their
alias - Candadian Oilfield Employment Resource Center - and
their primary product is:

"The Western Canadian Oilfield Work Directory"

"The directory is 8 x 11" covered book, with All OIL JOB EMPLOYERS
 listed!"

"The cost of this directory is $54.95 Canadian, but as an Internet
marketing test and until October 31, 2005, it is just $39.95 Canadian."
http://www.jobs-canada.ca/resume.html

You'll note the P.O. Box at the bottom of the page, given as
their address:

C.O.E.R.C.
Box 2663
Fort Macleod, AB T0L 0Z0
Canada
(403) 553-4469

That alone would be enough to dissuade me.

They do list a physical address on the AllWhoIs page, which
discloses the following:

---

Notes:

Registrar: ZiD.com Division of ZYMOS Computer Systems Inc.
Their domain name was registered by their hosting company, which
is not unusual:
http://zid.com/

Renewal-Date: 2007/03/13
Date-Approved: 2001/03/13
Date-Modified: 2005/07/19

This indicates the company has been online since 2001, and has
renewed until 2007, which indicates an intention to be around
for awhile, which is good.

Organization: The-Power-House Motivational Company, Inc.
A search for variations of this name turned up no results:

"The Power House Motivational Company"

"The-Power-House Motivational Company"

That's not good.

Admin-Postal: The-Power-House Motivational Company, Inc.
                28 St. James Boulevard
                Lethbridge AB T1H 6M6 Canada

Name aside, a search for the combination of the two address
lines turned up nothing:

"28 St. James Boulevard" "Lethbridge AB T1H 6M6 Canada"

A search for only the street address turns up nothing:

"28 St. James Boulevard"

A search for the latter half turns up one result:

"Lethbridge AB T1H 6M6 Canada"

The result is a Canadian business directory, and this page lists
businesses in Letheridge, one with an address on St. James Blvd:

---
Double G Bobcat and Trucking
36 St James Boulevard North,
Lethbridge, AB
T1H 6M6
Canada
---
http://www.canadianbusinessdirectory.ca/city-AB-193-38.htm

So the address of 28 St. James Boulevard at least becomes feasible.

A further search of the business directory lends no credence
to the address in question, however:

"28 St. James Boulevard" site:www.canadianbusinessdirectory.ca
://www.google.com/search?q=%2228+St.+James+Boulevard%22+site%3Awww.canadianbusinessdirectory.ca

Admin-Phone: 403-394-1706

First, note that this number doesn't match the number on the
contact page on the website, which is (403) 553-4469:
http://www.jobs-canada.ca/contact.html

A search for this number returns very few results:

403-394-1706
://www.google.com/search?q=403-394-1706

The results seem to be ads place on other sites, pointing toward the
www.jobs-canada.ca site, and placed by Shauna Fournier (while the
Admin-name and Tech-name given on AllWhoIs is Shauna Orr) - Okay,
maybe she got married - such as this page on RigZone.com:
http://www.rigzone.com/search/sites/All_Canadian_Oilfield_Jobs__Find_Employment_Now1922.asp

Note the completely different address given on that page:

60 55 Lemoyne Cr. W.
Lethbridge, AB, T1K 4J7
Canada

A search for that address only points back to the page above.

So, at the least, they seem to change addresses and phone
numbers without bothering to update pertinent parties.

Also note that the listing on the page above states:

"Primary Line of Business: Oilfield Driller
 Ownership: Private
 Number of Employees: 2"

A search for the number given on the contact page of the site:

(403) 553-4469
://www.google.com/search?q=%28403%29+553-4469

...turns up a result that shows a Ron Fournier (okay, so she *did*
get married, placing an ad looking to buy a helicopter on HeliNews.com:

"looking for timed out helicopter - Ron Fournier -
 info@jobs-canada.ca - 02/20/06
prefer enstrom...but will consider all ships.....
 1-403-553-4469"
http://www.helinews.com/forsaleboard/forsaleboard.shtml

The search results also show ads placed on other sites,
to draw people to www.jobs-canada.ca.

As for recognition by the Canadian government, the Canadian
Council of Better Business Bureaus lists only 40 members:
http://www.canadiancouncilbbb.ca/directory.html

So, in summary, we seem to have a business consisting of
2 people, Shauna Orr, now Shauna Fournier, married to, and
in business with Ron Fournier. One or both of them claim
to have some expertise in getting you hooked up with jobs
related to oil drilling, and their primary product is a
directory filled with trade secrets to get you past an
initial phone interview and into a job.

They seem to be intent on keeping their website and business
around for awhile.

They're not great at updating records, and have no physical
address in case you decide you want to pursue a refund which
is slow in coming.

While it's possible that these are two competent people who
are selling a good product, there is little evidence to
support this.

Here, I guess, is the kicker for me. Not knowing that a good
researcher could find his name in conjunction with his use of
the website's phone number on an ad seeking a helicopter, one
of only two testimonials on the website is by Ron Fournier:

"In the oil fields you can start as a helper and in three years
you could be running the crew. If you work hard you can be
 anywhere you want to be.

    -Ron Fournier"
http://www.jobs-canada.ca/newsarticles.html

I guess where Ron wants to be is selling a directory. Perhaps
he bought one from Shauna, worked hard, and made enough to
propose to her and buy a helicopter?
