You don't need to pay much to have a good CMS. Some solutions are acceptable and sometimes very poerful and free. I use 3 CMS : Postnuke Xoops and Joomla. Both are based on the same "frame" but Xoops has the cleanest code. Both can be downloaded from their respective website and are very easy to install, if you have a knowledge of 2 specific thing : How to "open" a MySql database on your server (very easy) and how to set the CHMOs on some folders and files on the server to let the script write and execute files (installation, cache, image upload, etc...) http://www.xoops.org/ http://www.postnuke.com http://www.joomla.org/ Also, there is a very active community aroud those that can help you with the small issues you can have. Messages on help forums are viewed and ansered very fast. And you can choose MODULES and TEMPLATES to help build a powerful interactive website in no time ! Hope this helps ! |
