My girlfriend says that pigs can't chew gum. I say they can. Your
video will prove me right. Researcher must provide link to a pig
(preferably a small, cute, pink one) chewing gum. Even better if the
pack of bubble gum is shown in the video.

I realize this sounds silly, but it is a serious research question
with real cash if you are the first one to provide the video. Thanks
and happy researching.

John,

Must it be a video? Here's a description from a website:
""I would like to say a word about chewing gum because I am aware that
many pig owners let there pets chew gum. Gum is not good for your Pot
Belly Pig if they swallow it. If they spit it out it will not be good
for your house or furniture or anything else it may land on. I am
told all the time by pig owners that their pet will spend lots of time
chewing the gum and when they don't want it any longer the pig will
spit it into the owner?s hand. If it works this way then there
probably is not a problem allowing it. However, it is not advisable
if there is any chance that your pet will swallow it.

I will always remember the pig owner who told me over and over how
beneficial chewing gum was to her pet. She said it kept it busy for
hours and when it got tired of the gum it would always nudge her to
let her know to take the gum. I warned and warned that pigs, like
children, can not be trusted to always let you know when they are done
with the gum. One night I got a call saying that her pet not only
left the chewed gum on the floor but then rolled on it. It took her
hours to get the gum out of the pig?s hair, not to mention her carpet.

To be successful, the researcher *must* provide a video of the pig
chewing gum. This is the parameters of the bet I have with my
girlfriend so it must be strictly adhered to. In this case, seeing is
believing. Cheers... - John

Whether your girlfriend is right or wrong, I would advise agreeing
with her. It's the easiest in the long run. Believe me!

Practise saying 'Yes, dear' 50 times every morning, You'll soon get the hang of it.

And, provided she's not looking, roll your eyes up to the ceiling. A
very meaningful gesture but it means real trouble if she should ever
notice.

There is a world-wide agreement between pigs to refuse to chew gum as
they are slaughtered to make it.

"Hides are made into leather and the fatty parts are made into
nitro-glycerine, lard compounds, illuminating oils, soap, tanning
compounds, leather dressing, Oleo margarine, candles, solvents,
lubricating oils, chewing gum and candy."

"Pepsin comes from the digestive juices of pigs and cows and has been
used as a flavor in chewing gum"

I will be very disappointed if Pinkfreud-ga doesn't have a friend or
relative that knows all about this.
Personally, I cannot imagine that pigs enjoy just chewing. They
rather just gulp down what they find, most of which is already in
gullet-sized.
