Dear agausling,
"Electrindo.com" is clearly a scam. There can be no doubt about this
for the following reasons:
- They claim that their full company name is "PT Electrindo
Bersaudara". But the official Indonesian database of registered
companies [1] does not list any company of that name. This company
does simply not exist. That alone is already proof enough that
Electrindo.com is a scam; but here are some additional supporting
points:
- On their website, they claim that they were founded already 9 years
ago, in 1997. However, when I checked the ownership record [2] for
their Web domain "electrindo.com", I found out that it has been
registered only on 27 October 2005. An actual, reputable company would
certainly not wait 8 years before registering their company name as a
Web address.
- Not only has the domain been registered only on 27 October 2005, it
will also expire already on 27 October 2006. This is typical for
online frauds: The scammers use "disposable" domains which they
register for only one year. As soon as the domains are not any longer
of use for criminal activities, they are simply abandoned.
- The domain was allegedly registered by one individual named Ahmad
Renzi, reputedly resident at Jl. Yos Sudarso Gg.Dermawan No.18 in
Medan 21309, Indonesia. That is a fake address. The postal code 21309
is not at all associated with the city of Medan. And the street name
"Jl. Yos Sudarso Gg.Dermawan" is actually a compound of two different
street names. Certainly a reputable company would not register their
domain using a fake address.
- Finally, during its alleged 9 years of existence, the company has
left suspiciously few traces on the Internet. A Google search for
"Electrindo.com" leads to just 27 results, and "Electrindo Bersaudara"
has only 2 results. Far too few for 9 years in business; therefore, it
is obvious that this "company" is actually not older than their
website.
The conclusion: "Electrindo.com" is a scam. I must advise not to do
any business with them.
Best regards,
Scriptor
