What is the name of the machine found in peep show booths featuring
live girls (not "mutoscopes" or "kinetoscopes" which show motion
pictures inside, but the contraption that accepts a quarter for a
shade to go up, revealing the live dancer inside the room.)  Also, can
you point me in the direction of any pictures of such contraptions on
the 'net?  thanks!

I don't know of any special name for a live peep-show booth, but the
girls who perform the show are sometimes called "boothbabies" or
"peeptarts."

Madonna's music video "Open Your Heart" is a depiction of this kind of
peep-show. The documentary film "Live Nude Girls Unite" is another.

The machinery that activates the shutter can be pretty simple an just
activated by the drop box closing a circuit for a moment (like a push
button switch for stairwell lights that turn of automatically).
