Ebay lets you place your unneeded wares on its site and then
interested buyers can explore what is available. Is the opposite also
true: can you list items you want and let intersted sellers explore
what is in demand? If yes how is this done? Is there another website
(maybe AOL) who does similar buying and selling as Ebay? At the
moment I am looking for an old computer which has a motherboard and
disk which will enable formatting ("fdisk-ing") in System "FAT 16"
(not FAT 32) so that I can install FAT 6.2 and windows 3.1.

Howdy vaac-ga,

eBay has just what you seek, a "reverse eBay," available now. It is
called "Want It Now" and it appears to be free.
http://pages.ebay.com/WantItNow/

"Create a Want It Now post and tell millions of sellers what you want."

eBay has an "about" page on the "Want It Now" service.
http://pages.ebay.com/wantitnow/about.html

"Expand your search -- Complements eBay search by letting you proactively
tell sellers what you want.

Save time -- Let Want It Now email you when a seller responds to your post
with an eBay item."

An alternative might tp place a post on the popular "craigslist" website.
http://www.craigslist.com/wan/

"... items wanted"

If you need any clarification, please feel free to ask.

Search strategy:

Google search on: eBay "want to buy"

One of your sponsored links
 Re-sell Products on Ebay
Secret Sources that sell to you
below wholesale prices. Free kit.
Ebay-Auctions-Make-Cash.com

  seems to be a phisher.
After giving them my credit card what can I do to avoid being phished?

Howdy vaac-ga,

The website you provided appears to be "just" an "Auction Freeway" affiliate
site. Once they collect your information, their "Privacy Policy" kicks into
gear.
https://secure.secureinternetstores.com/offers/ppolicy.html

"By entering a sweepstakes or promotion, registering with our Website,
completing any forms on our Website, or by checking or not unchecking
co-registration boxes, you grant the Company the right to use the
collected information for marketing purposes including, but not limited
to, sharing such information with third party advertisers ('Advertisers'),
emailing, or physically mailing Company or any third party offers to your
email address or postal address."

In other words, you get spammed.

If you gave them your credit card information, and you suspect a scam, then
the best way to deal with it is to get your credit card number changed. Just
contact your credit card company, explain that you might have been phished,
and they will advise you from there.
