I would like a second opinion on a pathology report for cancerous
kidney cells. I'd like to confirm the grade and type of cancer.
Where can I find a pathologist in the Los Angeles (S.Cali) area who
does private consults and second opinions for malignant kidney biopsies?

You didn't state the general area that the first report came from.

I'm sure a researcher can find specific pathologists for hire, and I
hope they do to answer your question.

If your report did not come from the leading University Medical Center
in your area, you can request that the University review your slides
and offer an opinion. If your results came from the University, you
can request that they have them reviewed at another University Medical
Center. In my state this does not result in an additional charge, but
I don't know if that is the case in California.

Why a University Medical Center? The report will come from a
department pathologist, but odds are, many eyes will look at it before
the report is sent.

Thanks for the insight. This didn't come from a University Medical
Center. Since insurance won't cover the second opinion I'm concerned
about the cost. I'd like to find a pathologist with a reasonable
out-of-pocket rate who can deliver a second opinion based on the
biopsy slides.
