In July of 2002, then 21-year old Christine Vetter plead guilty in a
South Carolina federal court to "mailing indecent and filthy
substances" through the mail, specifically, her used panties.  It was
a federal crime carrying a maximum penalty of up to 5 years in prison
and a $250,000 fine.

What actually happened to her?  What sentence did she get?  What did
she actually serve, if any?  What was the fine?  Please provide a
reference to the source.

There may be a bonus for where-is-she-now information.  I'm curious if
this hurt her education or her opportunties in the job market.  I'm
thinking of writing an entry for my blog that follows up on her, and I
might be interested in contacting her or her lawyer, if they're
willing.

Christine was lucky to get 5 year probation instead of a prison term
because of her co-operation with the authorities. Here's a link that
