I worked in the US for 2.5 years and have a 401K (actually a 403B)
account and tax sheltered annuity account (i.e. my contributions went
in after tax) with a useful amount of money in it left in the US. I'm
now working back in New Zealand and am unlikely to return to the US to
work. I would like to use the money to retire on (in 20+ years) and
have been thinking about tax implications. I need to find someone who
understand US and NZ taxation.

- If I withdrew small amounts annually (i.e. within the standard
deduction for a married couple) would this income be tax-free in the
US? My husband is Australian and would not have taxable income to
declare in the US.

- Would money repatriated to New Zealand be taxable there?

Thanks.
