How big is the consumer sunflower seed market in the U.S? In dollar
terms.  I am referring to the snack food segment (i.e. the seeds we
buy to eat at the baseball game but not including the other segments
such as feed for livestock or other uses).  I saw a statistic in a
presentation that said it is a $200 million dollar sales catagory in
the U.S.  This seemed low to me.

available, the wholesale number (i.e. dollars of seeds sold to end
distributors such as grocery store chains, drug store chains etc).

as of 2001 the Institute of Food Technologists (ift.org) reports 138.3
million in sales so your figure seems close.
