October 1964 and in March 2006, and what is $4,000 U.S.in October 1964
worth in U.S.dollars in March 2006?

according to the UK price indexes (I also made some adjustments for
October instead of January, and march instead of January):
5.25 pounds is jan 1933 is worth 18.30 pounds in oct 1964 (that s
$51.26 back then), and is worth 776 pounds in March 06 (that s $453
dollars)

According to US price index, $4000 in Oct 64 is worth about $25,536 in March 06
