General Robert E. Lee was an Episcopalian. I found a story about him receiving communion with a black visitor to St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Richmond (a little more than midway down the page): http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2001/09/0907_smithgenlee.html Mention of his funeral procession at the Episcopal church he was a member of: http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/famousSearch.cgi?mode=city&FScityid=152910 He is listed among other famous Episcopalians near the bottom of this page: http://stthomastemecula.com/episcopalians.htm Finally, the bottom of this web page has an excerpt from a book written by Lee's son that cinches it: http://www.geocities.com/garebel942/lee.html Google searches performed: general robert lee church general robert lee episcopalian |
