which large u.s. city can you be on a tall building and look due south
into canada? links please...thanks...not a homework question at my
age.

not a trick question...i do not know the answer but it seems it is
legitimate. it could be a city in alaska i would think, but of course
i don't know.

markmvd... my choice is detroit also but sad to say i don't know or
can figure out if detroit is south of any portion of canada. if you
can look further and actually find out if it is south.....you will
answer the question...........tks

This must be a trick question ...

My guess is Washington DC where there's probably a tall building from
which you can see into the Canadian Embassy, which (I suppose) could
be called part of Canada.

Look carefully at a map of Detroit. Find (for example) Joe Louis Arena
(600 Civic Center Drive, Detroit, MI 48226) and then figure out what
direction you are looking to see Windsor's Dieppe Park.

markmvd...i am accepting yuour answer at 5 55pm local today. detroit
was my choice but i was too lazy to look further. after you said it
may be detroit, i found sites that stated windsor ontario was south of
detroit and portions of canada could be seen from detroit....please

FredG--

I was rather specific as to the address to look up to see how Canada
can be south of the US. Give it a whirl. Use Google Maps or MapQuest.
It's kinda cool.

I am not a Google Researcher and so cannot post an answer. I was
hoping a Researcher would use my comment to post an answer and am
hopeful one will. I am always pleasantly surprised at the breadth of
information as well as the depth they provide.
