If I pray for rain, how can I ensure that it rains in Chandigarh and
not here in Brighton & Hove?

And do you know any good prayers?

Or invocations to the Devil?

Or whatever?

URGENTLY NEEDED

Many thanks!

Bryan

Natives in Arizona tell me that dancing is the thing, but,
then again, Arizona has been in a record-breaking drought
lately, so maybe that's not the best advice.

Phoenix area went 143 days w/o any rain. On Day 144 it finally rained
in the Valley of the Sun. And where it didn't rain, it snowed.

Many thanks, Subby, I knew I could rely on you.

I've danced non-stop since your enlightened Comment and I am still at
it but WOW this break dancing stuff really takes it out of you.

Hi, Toby, I'd like to bet that you've not been dancing enough. Or
maybe you've just been doing the wrong sort of dancing? (I rather
doubt if your Charleston will do the trick.)

Hi, Secret

Dunno the man you recommend and I realise that you are unable to give
me a contact number but, MAN, this is REAL URGENT with England rapidly
sliding to defeat.

C'mon Everyone, KEEP ON DANCING!

Bryan,

If you are going to involve the Devil, I suggest that the best place
to start is Devil's Dyke.
You know where it is, but the benefit of others.

I guarantee that if you quickly drive to Chandigarh, (turn left at
Spain and keep going) then get out and wash your car (RR, PB?), you
will have rain within 8 hours. If you get that chamois going and buff
and polish to a mirror finish, it will rain within 4 hours.
Unwittingly leave the windows open, and it will pissitively poss down
as soon as you go inside. I promise.

Otherwise, you can go here and fill out a Public Grievance form and
complain about the lack of precipitation. http://chandigarh.nic.in/

Hope that helps.

DISASTER!

India beat England by 9 wickets.

Really, I did stress the URGENCY of early action and although I have
danced non-stop since Subby's wise advice ... NO JOY.

Thank you StressyMa for suggesting that I should drive to Chandigarh
but even if I had got a Roller (instead of a humble Toyota) I could
not have made it in time.

I am now off to Devil's Dyke to start dancing there before the next
(and final) Test. Thanks, A/F for sorting this out.

I now urge all cricket lovers everywhere to go urgently to their local
coven and KEEP DANCING!

Many thanks to all.

Rain in Chandigarh:
Bryan,
I think you need some research on local gods there, or local patron
saints, should you insist on appealing via what I suppose your
religion to be. (Or as an old legionaire serving the provinces, did
you offer to Mars or Artemis?)

From my reading of mythology, gods (small G) don't have much
understanding of human altruism and would probably assume that you
really want rain where you are, which would probably also be an easier
heavenly task. Indeed, your mere thoughts and question may have
already been interpreted as such - knowing English weather.

Zechariah 10:1-2

Ask the LORD for rain in the springtime;
it is the LORD who makes the storm clouds.
He gives showers of rain to men,
and plants of the field to everyone.

The idols speak deceit,
       diviners see visions that lie;
they tell dreams that are false,
       they give comfort in vain.
Therefore the people wander like sheep
oppressed for lack of a shepherd.

Oh no, Easterangel, have I been dancing myself silly to no avail?

And not only me but all the others who have answered my plea.

Still it's great fun down at the coven.

Please send us another crate of Banana Herat, quick!

Bryan.

Gotta wait for a few months. It's planting season right now. :)
