my question concerns avid xpress pro hd. I keep getting a message that says end of file reached '<filename>' and the programme stops. This programme worked just fine until I reinstalled Microsft XP Pro incl sp2. what should I do? Thanks Richard Goodwin PS I have reduced the name of the file. |

Post more detailed information such as your OS before reinstalling XPsp2, software version, and when specifically the error occurrs (does it happen with all filetypes? while initializing export? partially through export? when files reach ___GB? etc.) Without more information, here's what I can tell you: ---If the problem happens when exporting to .avi and somewhere around the 2GB mark, then it's because there are two types of AVI files, and avid can only export to Type 1, which has a filesize limit of 2GB. If this seems to be the problem, I would suggest either exporting directly to .dv or exporting to .qt and using another encoder (such as procoder or cce) to convert to the desired filetype. ---Since you just reinstalled your OS, it could be just a simple installation/registry setting error. If you haven't already, I would reinstall avid from scratch, because sometimes reinstalling or repairing a Windows installation can cause you to lose some settings and registry entries (even though it's not supposed to) |

Hi! I got the same message from my Avid XPress 5.2 yesterday. It appeared, after I canceled rendering Color effects. At this point, Avid reaches the end of the rendered file and so you get this message. But there is a tricky fact in here. The clip and his effect, where the message appeared, was fine. It was the following clip, that was wrong. I removed the effect, created a new one and the problem was gone. Kinda mean, isn't it? Greetz Magnus |
