Question ID: 706954
I am interested in finding prices at auction for any western artist, or
artist whose main themes are western or cowboy subjects. I'm particularly
interested in the sculptors Harry Jackson, David Manuel, and Veryl Goodnight,
and painters such as David Nordahl, but any Sotheby or Christies [or
comparable] auctions dealing with Western art in General would be
welcome!

kwd-ga,

Your best source for free and fairly comprehensive auction price
information is FindArtInfo.com:

http://www.findartinfo.com

Just search on the artist name of interest to see what's available.

For instance, a search on [ Harry Jackson ] shows 44 sales listings:

http://www.findartinfo.com/search/listprices.asp?keyword=87774&name=Harry_Jackson
Information for Harry Jackson
44 results are found

and includes a list of sales dating from November 2005, back to
September 2003. The list looks like this:

Date Title Size (HxWxD) Medium Price

  30-11-05 Algonquin Chief 9 x 0 in Bronze 2,500 USD

  05-11-05 Study:Express Rider, 53/100 , 1972 11.75 x 8 x 7 Bronze 1,500 USD

  05-11-05 Old Timer , 1970 6 x 2.75 x 4.75 in Polychrome 1,500 USD

  18-09-05 Sketches; Western Landscapes 9.75 x 12.75 in Ink 431 USD

...and so on.

Another great source of information is ArtPrice.com:

http://web.artprice.com/myartprice.aspx?l=en

Their database probably contains more artists and more sales
information than FindArtInfo.com. But they also charge a subscription
fee to access the price information. Still, it's a valuable resource,
and one you may want to consider subscribing to.

I trust these sources will provide you just the information you needed.

However, please don't rate this answer if you find you'd like
additional information. Just let me know by posting a Request for
Clarification, and I'm at your service.
