Hello,

I am a programmer and I am trying to develop an application that
would, upon execution, automatically add a new wireless network with a
predefined set of parameters (SSID, WPA-PSK key, automatic connection)
to a user's list of preferred networks.
The main aim behind this application is to ditribute it for free on a
CD (with autorun), so that students on a university campus would be
able to connect to the campus WLAN without having to fiddle around
with network configurations.
What is the best way to go about this? Please help me.

Many thanks,

Nino

See "Deploying Wireless Provisioning Services":

Using XML it's possible to create a set of standard configuration
settings that upon execution will auto configure Windows notebooks and
desktops for a wireless connection. The linked "DOC" outlines the
setup process for this.

Thank you happydrgn for your comment. I had a look at WPS previously
but the main constraints are that the provisioning server has to be a
Windows 2003 Server and all connecting computers must be Win XP with
service pack 2. This solution leaves out all Win XP with SP1, Win 98,
Win 2K and Win ME.

What I'm really looking for is some kind of component/control that
calls a win API to create a wireless network connection and sets it
as automatic. I don't know if that's feasible, that's why I'm asking
the question.

Again, thanks for your comment, and please do contribute with any more
solutions if you come across any.
