My machine config:
Win2K Pro

CDs play AND RIP in WinMediaPlayer 9
CDs play WON'T RIP (errors) in MediaMonkey
CD drive not recognized by iTunes

WANT: to use MediaMonkey for everything. Do NOT want to install
WinMediaPlayer 10. do NOT want to use iTunes due to proprietary
coding, etc.

What I've tried:
Installed the missing aspi files from adaptec. did not solve problem

This morning, tried to rip just one track. Pasted below is the error
log file. I'm not tech savvy. Can't understand it. If you can solve
this problem, you'll be my hero.

Request for Question Clarification by palitoy-ga on 14 Mar 2006 10:48 PST
This doesn't address the whole problem which is why I am posting it as
a clarification rather than an answer. Have you tried ripping the CD
using Audiograbber?

Audiograbber can be downloaded for free here: http://www.audiograbber.com-us.net/

The MP3/WMA files Audiograbber produces should then be easily placed
into the library in MediaMonkey. Audiograbber has never let me down
in converting a CD yet!

Another similar solution would be to use the excellent dbPowerAmp (at
http://www.dbpoweramp.com), rip the CD using this software and then
import the tracks into MediaMonkey.

Let me know if this answers your question...

"This doesn't address the whole problem..."

No, it certainly doesn't. My query is specific: I want to use
MediaMonkey as my 1-stop audio center. Installing yet one more piece
of software and then transferring files into MM is NOT an acceptable
solution.
Answer
There is no answer at this time.

Hey,
My idea for solution:
-Are you running all of the current drivers for your CD-ROM drives?
-Install Media Monkey again
Do you know how to check for driver?
By the way i would be less upfront and confrontational to a sensible clarification
