I need ONE device that satisfies multiple requirements:
(1) The device must connect to my HP pavilion laptop (2 years old,
Windows XP, USB 2.0). The device must be able to play and record
DVD+RW, so that I can transfer large files from my laptop to a DVD+RW
on this device AND be able to watch home movies (from a DVD+RW playing
on this device) on my laptop.
(2) I have a Dish network DVR which is nearly full. I want to be able
to connect this device to my DISH DVR (1 year old) and transfer movies
on my DVR to a DVD+RW on this device (and thus, free up space on my
DISH DVR).
(3) I have a new Sony DVD+RW camcorder - model DVD403 (camcorder burns
movies directly to DVD+RW). I want this device to connect to my SONY
A/V receiver (2 years old) so that I can watch DVD+RW movies, playing
on this device, on my TV. I don't want to keep connecting my camcorder
to the TV to watch home movies.

Is there ONE device that satisfies all 3 requirements? If so, would it
support multiple formats (DVD+/-R, DVD +/- RW)?

You might take a look at the Panasonic DMR-ES40V.
