I do a lot of cutting and pasting, often working my way down a long column of text.

Every time I paste, a little icon pops up representing "paste
options". If I click on it, it offers several options:
-keep source formatting
-match destination formatting
-etc.

That little icon drives me nuts because it covers up (hides) the
cursor, and I can't see where I'm about to paste. I keep having to hit
the ESC key to get rid of it. But, as soon as I paste, there it is
again!

IS THERE A WAY TO SUPPRESS THE "PASTE OPTIONS" ICON PERMANENTLY?

Thanks.

Hi rambler,

You can disable the Paste Options box easily.

Go to / Tools / Options / Edit tab / Cut and paste options

Uncheck: Show Paste Options buttons

Click OK.
