Does anybody know how to "copy and paste" some tables and other items
on the internet which cannot be trasferred to a text file using the
CTRL-C and CTRL-V?
These items can be copies to an *.mht file, or by using the "Print
Sceen" button followed by CTRL-C = CTRL-V can be copied to write-pad
or Paint as a *.bmt file. If there is a way to tranfer from the copies
in the write pad or paint (*.bmt file) to a text file? If there is -
this will solve my problem

The only way I can think of is either by "OCR"-ing the BMT file, a
procedure which is unreliable or maybe impossible, or by hand copying
and keying in which is not only cumbersome but prone to human error.
Is there a better way? or a commercial program which will do rhis?

Can you give a link to the page so we can try it out? It's hard to
know what will be successful without a specific example to work with.

An example would be the tables in Barrons article:
Symbol Company Name Last Change % Change Volume Time
http://online.barrons.com/article/SB114143822784689403.html

But I am not sure you can access this without being a Barron online customer.

Alternatively you can convert any text file to its word pad or paint
equvalent, and then try to reconvert it to a text file.

I do not understamd what is needed to clarify. If there is a better

clarified or

I am not sure if this will fit your needs. But I was able to do this
using Adobe Professional V7 . I converted a picture of a table I found
on the Internet, converted it to a PDF, then use Adobe to convert it
to a TIFF (customized it to 600 dpi), open it up in Adobe - then in
the menu option DOCUMENT, select 'Recognize Text Using OCR' . Then I
copied and paste AS TEXT the data from the table. It did a pretty good
job.

I believe you can download a evaluation version of the software from adobe.com
Hope this helps,
David

Thanks, thfc-ga for your comments, but unfortunately this will not fit
my needs. If I have to resort to OCR I can do this directly from a BMT
file with the soft ware that came with the scanner ( Visioneer
OneTouch)

Is there a better way not needing OCR?
