I need to know how Windows XP saves saves the layout of the icons on the desktop. What I need to do is to save the exact layout of the desktop icons and be able to transfer this layout to a different computer. For this to work I need to know how Windows XP stores this information so I can copy it from one machine to another. | |

A better way might be to use the User State Migration Tool (USMT) provided by Microsoft. It copies all the personal settings of a user and transfers them to the target PC. Here is the link to download it. http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=4af2d2c9-f16c-4c52-a203-8daf944dd555&DisplayLang=en |
