Need to complete a Doctor of Pharmacy degree, Pharm.D in the shortest
possible time (without a prior B.S in Pharmacy , I am not a practicing
pharmacist,) I need the entry-level professional degree, Pharm.D) At
most of the 89 colleges of pharmacy it takes 4 years (beyond the
pre-pharmacy requirements which I have already completed). I need a
list of schools that offer an accelerated Pharm.D program that can be
completed in 3 instead of 4 years AND deliver the class type potion of
the training via the web/online/distance learning. (I'd still have to
go in for lab and clinical rotations) I could be in Boston while
attending college in Montana and complete it the degree in 3 years.
Creighton University in Nebraska has such a web-based program except
theirs takes 4 years, I am looking for one that can be completed in 3.
Thanks

Dear Sachaa,

I have explored online/distance Pharm-D programmes, and they are
mostly 4-years. An exception is a programme which is distance learning
3-year-programme, but has weekend classes, in Pennsylvania. Would you
like to get information about this programme?

Politicalguru,

I live too far from Pittsburg, PA to attend weekend classes there. I
relly need a School of Pharmacy with a 3 year Pharm.D program the bulk
of which is delivered via the internet/web, something like this
www.pharmacy.creighton.edu/newpharmacyVer2/pharmacy/EntryPharmacywebProgram.asp
but a 3 year program instead of 4 years.
Thanks

sachaa-ga,

You might want to try contacting the program at the Albany College of Pharmacy:

http://www.acp.edu/academics_pharmdaccel.html

They conduct a lot of their education online, and also offer a
three-year accelerated PharmD program.

It wasn't completely clear from their site just how much of the the
3-year program could be accomplished online...hence, my suggestion to
contact them:

888-203-8010

info@acp.edu

Let me know how that works out.

How about skipping the whole drug/pill dependent till they die making
money thing and get into something that will actually make a
difference in peoples lives...preventive maintenance. Just think...if
you could prevent it then you wouldn't need em...and Billy won't have
to get a heart transplant for 50gs by your good friend Dr. Smith 10
years down the road because of these treating the symptoms, short
story side effect drugs.

FACT:
More North Americans have died due to perscription drugs then
casualties from all 3 major wars combined

Maybe get into minerals and vitamins instead of feeding the FDA'S
wallet...the 90 your body needs daily to prevent every horrible
disease in north america :)

And that goes out to all you MD wanabes to:)
