It kind of depends, wouldn't you think?

If it's a letter from JFK to Marilyn Monroe, it's probably worth quite a bit.

But Zachary Taylor to...ummm...anyone, probably not as much.

Hi! Thanks for the question.

I agree with my fellow researcher pafalafa-ga that the personalities
involved and the contents of the letter will be another factor in
estimating the price of this letter. Another thing is that the
perceived authenticity of the historical product.  However, until it
is put into auction, you will not really know how much it costs.

The next best thing was to look at other similar products offered in
the past. I wasn't able to find a specific love letter for any
presidents. But these letters gathered from Ebay auctions will give
you an idea on how much opening prices or even how much to expect once
you sell such memorabilia.
