Must be a film version of the Ambrose Bierce story entitled "The Boarded Window," which you can read here: http://www.classicreader.com/read.php/sid.6/bookid.1934/ Archae0pteryx |

I think you are 100% correct on your assessment. I found a 1973 short film by Alan W Beattie that fits the description. The only problem is that I can't seem to locate a copy to purchase anywhere. Any ideas? |

You're right; this elusive video (if indeed it is the one you remember) sure doesn't seem to be for sale anywhere. But it does appear to exist in several library collections, including: William Patterson University of New Jersey: http://admin2.wpunj.edu/htbin/wwform/www/?TEXT=R5741447-5744793-/www/documents/070/cat/wwi770.htm University of Michigan: http://fvlalpha.ugl.lib.umich.edu/htbin/wwform/www/?TEXT=R6742640-6745152-/www/documents/198/cat/wwi770.htm or even Winnacunnet High School in Hampton, NH http://www.winnacunnet.k12.nh.us/webopac/titleinfo?k1=142520&k2=24427 For locating a copy near you, you could try searching at World Cat. There do seem to be some out there, as a search in my state alone turned up a half dozen copies: http://www.worldcatlibraries.org/wcpa/ow/0a3d1042371f79b6a19afeb4da09e526.html For possible purchase, you might try the "last resort" of video searchers, the video detectives at "A Million and One World Wide Videos," who will search for you, for a fee. They claim they can get any title ever produced. Check 'em out here: http://www.wwvideos.com/index.html Good luck! Byrd-ga |
