There's an episode in "Sex and the City" in which Sarah Jessica Parker
goes to her boyfriend's place (the one guy who really loves jazz, I
can't remember his name). At some point, the guy gets very excited
with a bass solo and go to his LP player to re-play it. Also, soon
after re-playing it, he goes to Jessica and uses her body to play bass.
Which song is that (and from which album)? Thanks!!!

The episode's title is "What's Sex Got to Do With It?"

When Ray, the jazz musician, "plays" Carries's body like a bass, the
tune is "Josh," an original composition by Richard Davis. When Carrie
asks Ray to "play" her again, the tune is "Persia My Dear," also by
Richard Davis.

"Song 02: Ray 'plays' Carrie.
 Richard Davis: 'Josh' (original composition)...

Song 08: Carrie invites Ray to 'play her' again.
Richard Davis: 'Persia My Dear' (original composition)"

"Sex and the City" certainly chose a classy source for this music.
Richard Davis is one of the world's best-known bassists. You'll find a
wealth of info about him here:

The Richard Davis Page

"Josh" is on a CD called "So In Love." It appears that this CD has
only been released in Japan, so it's rather expensive:

"Persia My Dear" is also an import that is currently out of press:

My Google search strategy:

Google Web Search: "sex and the city" "jazz musician"

I hope this is helpful. If anything is unclear or incomplete, please
request clarification; I'll be glad to offer further assistance before

Very helpful, but where do you buy the first Richard Davis song
"Another"? THAT's the song that they first listen to together when he
pulls out a record to play for her. Then he "plays" her twice with
two more Davis tunes.

Hope you can find out!

Thanks!
