I have about 1,000 photographas of various sizes and maybe 3,000
slides. I want to buy a scanner that goes a lot faster than my Canon
D1250. There are so many choices of scanner. Can someone narrow the
choices for me? There are companies out there that are offering .50 a
scan to do it for me. So, I guess my budget is $500.00 tops

any modern canon should be as fast as you'll get however things like
resolution really make a different to speed so the quality you want
your images is a big deal. If its just for screen pictures, internet
and such 72dpi is good however if you intend to print them you'll want
to cram it up much higher.

both of those are excellent quality scanners and will do very high
resolutions. however for speed if they are only for screen viewing and
quality doesnt matter set the dpi to 72dpi or a bit higher and they
will scan much faster than the highest setting.

I don't think he's asking about speed based on scan resolution, I
think he wants a scanner where you can drop in the 3,000 photos and it
will feed them through the scanner automatically. I'm looking for the
same thing. I can wait a week for high resolution photos if the
machine is feeding them in automatically.
