Hi! I would like to know the names of the top 5 web development software packages that are capable of creating database driven and content managed websites. Members loggin areas etc. Not providers of the service (web developers etc) but the actual software for it. I do a lot of web desing, but haven't been required to set up a content manages system before. Appreciate your help. Cheers, CM |

you cant get software for a content managed system. It's to complicated. To do a content managed system you need to know a good strong language like php and code it to use databases manually. You can't get a frontpage, dreamweaver easy look at me I'm a drag and drop web designer package. |

There are a bunch of good CMS systems available and many are open sourse meaning that they are free for downloading. Most of a healthy following of users and good support forums to learn how to setup and maintain. I have tried several and the one I settles on was Mambo. Open Source CMS lists all of the favorites with a rating system. http://www.opensourcecms.com/index.php?option=content&task=view&id=388&Itemid=143&PHPSESSID=366d54eeb8b285fe5be47f885a1ef311 |
