How do you conduct a noise survey with a sound level measuring instrument?

The Bruel & Kjaer website has free online courses on how to use and
calibrate their meters.  Would you be interested in these?

Also, where do you want to conduct the noise survey?  In an enclosed
space?  In an urban enviornment?  In a rural or suburban environment?
