I need to troubleshoot a propane hot water heater. It will not light. Is there a web site where I can go to to help explain the process and/or repair. thank you |

It is very likely a bad thermocouple. |

On mine, even when brand new the instruction manual said that you would need to hold a lit match in the pilot area it for 3 - 5 minutes. It really did take that long. As I recall the reason is, the gas needed to pressurize in the pipes. Just turned the dial all the way to the right, held a match (even had to keep lighting several matches) and waited and waited. Again, this was by design. |
