Question ID: 709191
How do I create a view within an MySQL database to an external
database via a JDBC driver?

I have a proprietary 3rd party database that provides a JDBC driver
giving rudimentary SQL access to that database. I wish to create
views on a MySQL database that will access data through the provided
JDBC driver. My platform is Redhat Linux.

Is this possible - and what database DDL statements do I use to create
such views within MySQL?

I am -not- asking for details of how to access a MySQL database
through a JDBC driver - rather the opposite. I want to access a JDBC
datasource from within a MySQL databse.

This does not answer my question. I wish to find out how to access a
JDBC datasource from within a MySQL database -not- access a MySQL
database from a Java program through a JDBC MySQL driver.
