Looking for the name of the artist and/or painting for the following
painted work of art: Female cellist, naked/topless, roundish thighs
pointy ankles. Depicted musical instrument may be a viola da gamba
and not a cello. Copy of picture can be found here:
http://nakedcellist.org/music.html Have already contacted the owner
of that website and he dosen't know the origins of this piece of art.
Thank you.

Looks like Botero to me!
Google Botero, and see if you
can find this work.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I don't think it's Botero. He even
makes plump ankles.

Why don't you click on "membership" and just ask?

I have done that. The owner says, "I know nothing about it.. it was
send to my (sic) by a friend who found it on the itnernet. I am also
not sure if it is an old picture.. it might me medieval, in which case
it probably is not a cello but a viola da gamba. If I find out
anything about this picture I will let you know..."

Hey there, found what you're looking for. The piece is called "Cello
Player" by Branko Bahunek. The oil painting was created in 1994 on
canvas.

Gallery with Painting:

More information at: http://bahunek.com

Not much luck on finding any sales, but you can e-mail the artist.

Search Strategy:
-Visited original site, found jpg filename (cello_player.jpg)
-Google images: cello_player.jpg
-View in original context

Hope that's everything you were looking for!

THANK YOU! I bow in humble obeisance to your detective prowess! I
must have looked at over 600 Google Images. Didn't try the _ between
the cello and player, though. You have put me out of my misery and
have made me so very happy. I will certainly do as you've suggested
and attempt to contact the artist about sales. The $10 is yours for
the asking, though I haven't a clue how to privately obtain an email
addy by which I could PayPal you. I don't even know if it's against
the rules to offer. And if I've broken some posting etiquette by
offering, please accept my sincere apologies. I don't mean to offend,
I am just ever so grateful for your efforts. Thank you again.
